Epiroc hydraulic breakers: hydraulic demolition power for precision demolition
17-04-2026From breaking light concrete to demolishing heavily reinforced foundations: a hydraulic breaker is indispensable. Epiroc develops breakers for excavators ranging from 0.7 to 140 tons, tailored to a wide variety of applications in demolition, road construction, and earthmoving. SAES, as the official Epiroc dealer and service partner, is the point of contact in the Benelux for purchase, advice, and maintenance.
Hydraulic impact power combined with nitrogen
The Epiroc breaker operates using hydraulic pressure in combination with a nitrogen chamber. The nitrogen functions as a gas spring: with each stroke, the gas spring pushes the piston back, increasing both impact force and frequency without requiring additional hydraulic power from the excavator. This distinguishes a gas-assisted hydraulic breaker from systems without a nitrogen chamber: at the same hydraulic flow, the Epiroc breaker delivers more energy per blow.
This operating principle makes the breakers highly efficient across a wide range of materials, including asphalt surfaces, concrete, heavily reinforced concrete, and rock.
SB series: Solid Body for mini and midi excavators
For excavators up to approximately 24 tons, Epiroc offers the SB series, built on the Solid Body concept. By eliminating unnecessary components, the breaker is more compact and lighter than other designs, without compromising impact power. This makes the SB series breaker particularly suitable for mini and midi excavators.
The integrated dust wiper and floating tool bushing make it easy to change and maintain the tool on-site, without the need for additional tools.
MB and HB series: protection and control for heavy-duty work
From the MB series onwards, the breakers come standard with advanced protection systems. These systems prevent blank firing—where the breaker strikes without material contact—and limit vibration transfer to the excavator. This protects both the breaker and the machine during prolonged, intensive use.
In addition, the MB and HB series feature advanced control technologies that automatically adjust impact energy to the hardness of the material. This not only improves efficiency but also reduces wear. Combined with robust housings and noise-reducing enclosures, these breakers are suitable for both heavy industrial demolition projects and operations in urban environments where noise reduction is important.
With a wide product range and technical support from SAES, users are assured of a reliable and productive solution for every demolition challenge.
